10 things Cardinal Nation just got back with the MLB labor agreement
Baseball has returned, so here's things to start thinking about.
NORMALCY.
Beyond everything else that comes with the arrival of baseball, the reliability of normalcy stands above all else. Think about it. The New Year honeymoon is over, and the calendar has already partaken in a few wind sprints. The grass is almost ready to turn green and grow, five feet of rain will soon be on the way, and the goals list is stagnant. Oh wait, baseball is here!
After three-plus months of negotiating, aka discussion over the division of funds, Major League owners and the Major League Players Association have tentatively agreed on a new Collective Bargaining Agreement. The wait is over. Spring training games are set for March 17 and regular season games could arrive by the first week of April. The “could” only exists due to the tentative nature of the current agreement.
Adam Wainwright and Yadier Molina will have a normal final run. If 2022 is indeed their final year in Cardinal red, the gents won’t have to start in mid-to-late April. Somewhere, their bodies are applauding.
