5 Things I Know: Life's supporting cast, Gorman's troubles, and Vinny's next movie
A smoky day job work week has hit the end of the road, so let's uncork a bottle of rumination and see what is on my mind.
The one thing we control in life is who gets to spend time with us. The people you allow deepest into your circle on a routine basis stand at the top of the personal food chain. Ride or dies, non-judgmental, and loyal to a degree that hasn’t been named yet. Those are the ones you need around at all times, thick or thin. However, we can instead let people in that don’t seem to help things at all… yet there they are getting the time.
Every one of us has a supporting cast in our lives. Our life is an ongoing movie with way more plot twists than balance, and the surroundings may change as the subplots escalate. Work subplot, personal subplot, pet subplot, etc. Choosing who gets the screen time and if they deserve it is the difference between a happy life and simply a life… if you ask me. Something I know. Sure about? That’s pushing it, but I try to stand behind what I believe in even when it’s hard.
Now, here are four other things on my mind and/or I know. The two title pairings pretty much equal the same idea, but mixing it up on occasion is fun for a guy who sweats for a living every summer in St. Louis.
