5 Things I Know: The gut feeling never lies, sports break hearts, ribs and movies revive the soul
Thank goodness for good cinema and music.
If life were easy, it wouldn’t be worth living… especially for over 40 years. It throws so much shit at you at any given time, and your best idea can be to let it hit you cleanly or slice like a hammer. This applies to every person walking around right now, and everyone else who had the pleasure of walking around this rock before departing. Above or below, wherever you go, you know how it goes. With that in mind, here are five things I *sorta* know.
#1 Drivers have become vindictive
It used to be fast or slow drivers causing most of the chaos out there. 20 miles per hour over the limit or 5-10 below it slowing the entire process down, the hazards were well-known outside of beat-up roads. These days, whether election results inflated or not, people are getting mean. They wait long enough before a light changes from yellow to red before speeding off quickly so the person behind can’t follow. They ride alongside us instead of pulling ahead or falling back.
What happened to working together even when working apart? You don’t have to be Mother Teresa behind the wheel to understand that we can both go and get on the highway before the arrow vanishes. There’s no need to ride someone like Zorro, but also zero clear reason to go slow enough to give a tour of the local shops you’re passing. People are against the wall out there, and it shows in the driving. Be better out there, friends. Just look in the mirror. We’re all guilty of something out there.
