Welcome to another round of useless ruminations from the south city corridor of semi-useful space. Let’s get into it before Monday knows what I’m doing.

#5-The unconventional manner of playoff hockey viewing

Don’t watch it at all. Instead of lending your mind and soul to the possibly painful task of taking in all three periods, watch part of it and bow out. Keep your mind intact by letting what will happen occur. Think about it. Your tuning in doesn’t change unless you have special powers that affect sports outcomes. Sunday’s Blues playoff game with the Winnipeg Jets ended in a 5-1 win for the home team, setting up a pivotal Game 5 in Winnipeg on Wednesday.

Instead of dragging my head and mind through three periods of thrilling yet exhausting hockey, I left it to the hockey gods to decide. Most people would scream “foul” due to the surefire allure of postseason hockey, but I had better things to do with my day. I helped my wife pull weeds and collect mulch, which was a wiser use of time than tossing it up in the air to a hockey game. Try it out.
