As lunch digests on a rainy day in St. Louis, let's discuss a few things.
You could feed me grilled chicken and mac and cheese for five days straight, and my stomach wouldn’t complain. A vegetable would need to be mixed in at some point, but nothing more fulfilling and consistent than chicken cooked on a grill with barbecue sauce covering, and an extra cheesy serving of noodles. Doctors could disagree with me, but I don’t care about their opinion. Let's get into some things with that specific food going down the drain.
#5-The Cardinals are defying people’s expectations. While the record is only 22-19, the current standings show them a game behind the Chicago Cubs. After starting the season in paltry fashion, they have won eight in a row on the heels of solid starting pitching, an offense that strikes first, and some surprise performances. Their bullpen hasn’t allowed an earned run in a week, and starters like Erick Fedde are throwing complete-game shutouts. It’s further proof that baseball, like other sports, doesn’t make any sense and is relatively week-to-week when it comes to grasping what is happening.
