5 things On My Mind: The 'Bisping' experience, Air Pod adoration, and a great move by MLBPA
Let's get into a few things real quick...
Happy damn Friday, folks. We’ve reached that part of the week where the general part of the population is almost done with the work week, and bartenders begin to hate their lives again. Before we reach the endgame (holds up index finger), let’s get into a few topics and random noise floating through my head.
BISPING documentary kicks serious ass
Outside of a cameo in Den of Thieves and the knowledge that he was a badass in the octagon, I didn’t know much about Michael Bisping. How he broke records for Brits in the UFC, how he underwent six eye surgeries, or the fact that he fought with only one good eye for a good chunk of his career. He’s gleefully profane, but he’s also a family man. He has the class and decency to not unpack a roughneck childhood, especially stories that may smear his mom and dad’s name. All of these things are found out in the riveting and unflinching documentary, aptly called Bisping. I aspire to be able to pronounce “fuck” like he does, yet alone throw as hard of a punch.
As Dana White said, he was born to do this. As UFC reporter Ariel Helwani notes in the film, “he’s tougher than a two-dollar steak.” Well done, ScoreG productions. Along with Ice Guardians, Cujo, and the Trejo doc, they are putting out great entertainment. Their latest informed me about a fighter who has an incredible “Rocky” type trajectory. It comes out later this month. Expect my full take then.
