Buffa's Buffet: Cranston isn't quitting acting, 'Expendables 4', getting old, and baseball's eternal grip
I often wonder if one day I won't care what the score is. You?
I get tired earlier these days.
By the time ten o’clock strikes the evening diamond, my eyes become extra weary and feel like closing down the store. Don’t mistake this for a complete sleepy shutdown, merely a stopping of activities. Those include movements such as excessive walking, talking, and any trips that venture farther than a bathroom. This is fairly consistent for all seven days a week.
Naps sound good, but they’re dangerous. Also, when does a full-timer nap? If I go to sleep right after getting home in the late afternoon, go ahead and call it for the night. Getting me back on this planet in an alert capacity is a bad bet. Everyone likes naps, but they aren’t the easiest to snap out of.
The problem with getting tired earlier is that the people you hang with are floored by this “new kind of tired” development. What makes a lot of sense to the home base won’t translate elsewhere, at least not at first. “Come on” or “just a little longer” are repeatedly uttered, but the store is already shutting down. At the same time, the other humans look more tired than you, yet they carry on.
