Ep. 2: A Justin Baldoni vs. Blake Lively scandal take and happy sequel news
Hear me avoid saying Justin Balboa for 20 minutes in the latest video podcast.
Welcome back to The Film Buffa Podcast, where footage of an odd-looking bald man talking film surfaces every week or two. This week’s episode is more movie news than review, so settle in and grab a cup of coffee… for you and also one for me.
The only thing that drowns out good movies is off-screen drama. The lawsuits, defamations, voice chats, and fallout from too many egos clashing on a school yard (aka movie set) on last year’s hit film, It Ends With Us. Well guess what? It didn’t end there
CUE THE BIG DRAMA SHOW!!
Justin Baldoni, the film’s co-star and director, clashed with co-star and producer Blake Lively, eventually running into the Ryan Reynolds/Lively juggernaut that was 2024 (her film paired with Deadpool and Wolverine). She filed a lawsuit against him, and he responded with one of his own for her and the New York Times for conspiring with Lively’s team to defame him and shit on his career. Mission accomplished, but where does all of this lead and what does it mean?
I handle that topic and happy sequel news (IT’S A DEN, BABY!) in my latest (it only took 13 days for episode 2 of The Film Buffa Podcast. Pardon my face for the entire 19 minutes and the slight echo. The unattractive part of laziness is not worrying about technical setbacks lessening the flavor of an opinion.
