Television shows don’t get a lot of time to make an impact with me these days. Blame the high volume or the sheer, undeniable fact that I’ve seen too much to have much patience for half-baked entries, but it’s a real thing. I can ditch a show after two episodes if it’s not good, and not feel bad about it.
Ladies and gentlemen, let me remind you that these people were paid and this job is now finished. Do we feel sorry for the thousands daily who lose their job and the millions who experience a pay cut? I don’t see a damn newsletter for those folks. If the show or movie stinks, I’ll exit stage left and may even write about it.
Before we get into vocal opinions and you counting the imperfections in my face and speaking manner, let’s get some facts out of the way first.
Fact: I started three shows.
Fact: I’ve only finished one of them.
First up, the latest (as of Monday afternoon) Netflix release is a docuseries called “Bad Vegan: Fame, Fraud, Fugitives.” A New York restaurant owner finds her life upended by one man and her constantly poor decision-making. Listen and/or watch as I break that and a couple other shows down.
