Podcast: Steven Spielberg kicks it old school with authentic ‘Disclosure Day’

A non spoiler take on the first big summer film.

Every great director has a bag of tricks up their sleeve for each film, but there is always a personal wheelhouse that represents their favorite genre to tell stories. When it comes to Steven Spielberg, it’s science fiction and potential alien lifeforms colliding with our planet. From E.T. to Close Encounters of the Third Kind to War of the Worlds, he likes this cinema playground.

His latest, Disclosure Day, opens in theaters tonight and should garner plenty of discussion after the movie finishes. A story centering around the release of special information pertaining to the extraterrestrial existence. However, is there more to this one than meets the eye in the previews? Yes.

Does Emily Blunt kill it? 100%. Is Colman Domingo going to be the Morgan Freeman of this generation? Probably. Does Spielberg still got it when it comes to making a thought-provoking and exciting addition to his storied repertoire? Yes.
