Sometimes, you write checks that your body may not like to cash but will end up doing for the sake of operation. Whether it’s pounding the system with alcohol on a single day or loading up Taco Bell into your stomach after 7pm, these are risky endeavors that human beings take on every day. Let’s just say I did the latter Monday night before Uber driver was initiated in Sappington.
Here’s what was discussed in the video above:
~J.J. Wetherholt will be on the opening day roster and most likely the lineup for the St. Louis Cardinals. While he is a John Mozeliak recruit, he stands as the first big prospect to launch in the revamped Chaim Bloom era. He will have a bevy of instructors at his disposal, unlike previous prospects like Jordan Walker and Nolan Gorman. Thankfully, his .386 OBP and high walk rate this spring already proves that he won’t chase sliders like Walker continues to do at the plate. His power and average will come in time, but he’s someone that baseball (not just St. Louis) is raving about. It’s an exciting element in an otherwise dismal (winning wise) period of baseball around here.
As the great Joaquin Andujar would say, “you never know,” especially when it comes to prospects. Wetherholt may be different.
~Yellowstone fans can rejoice with the news that Dutton Ranch has an official air date. Cole Hauser’s Rip Wheeler and Kelly Reilly’s Beth Dutton will be cracking skulls and ninja-slicing minds, respectively, starting on May 15. Paramount Plus will carry it, which means that the production value and writing will be better than the recently released Marshalls. It’s kettle corn for fans of the show who fell in love with the ranch’s premiere couple. And it brings back Lloyd, the elder ranch hand who acts as Rip’s ride or die. Shoutout to the producers for using a Nate Dogg classic for the trailer music.
~The Blues may not make the playoffs but they’re playing better hockey to close out a disappointing season. A little late, gents. With 67 points, they’re not going to the promised land. Tonight they get the Washington Capitals. Good luck, as they told Liam Neeson in Taken.
~When a movie wins Best Picture, there’s a need to go back and revisit. Paul Thomas Anderson won the award for Best Director for One Battle After Another, and Sean Penn won Best Supporting actor. There’s fierce female talent in the movie as well, but I’d take a whole spinoff with Leonardo DiCaprio and Benicio del Toro’s characters. It’s some of DiCaprio’s best work, and that’s saying a lot. His expression below is my general look every day I wake up: Wayward yet noble, tired yet ready to make things right again and forever in savior mode. Watch it on HBO Max. It’s one to appreciate especially on second viewing.
