Revenge is a dish best served with French fries; just ask David Perron
The Blues storm back and tie the series with Colorado.
David Perron has enjoyed an unconventional ride with the St. Louis Blues.
After coming up with the team and finding success in 2007, he was gone. And then he came back in 2016, only to leave for Vegas. The third time was the charm, which included a trip to a tiny yet gorgeous island called Lord Stanley. A place that NHL teams can only visit in June.
Perron helped the Blues continue their run towards Cup #2 on Thursday night, scoring two pivotal goals to push St. Louis into a tie in the best of seven series with the Avalanche--who won Game 1 in overtime, 3-2.
He gave the Blues a huge goal late in the second period, a power play tally that gave St. Louis a 2-0 lead going into the third. When Colorado sliced the lead in half, “Frenchie” put the Blues back ahead by two to seal the game.
The pair gave Perron 20 for his Blues playoff career, and 216 total goals if you throw in the regular season. From the launch to the Thornton concussion, onto the exits and back to the rebirth, Perron’s St. Louis career continues to produce rewards. I can’t imagine how he is allowed to leave this team again before retirement.
What a huge comeback performance from St. Louis, bolstered by another strong night in goal from Jordan Binnington. With no disrespect to Ville Husso-the Blues wouldn’t be here without him-this is still Binnington’s team.
