For every writer, the goal is to maximize output while retaining your voice. In other words, don’t let the quantity affect the quality. But in recent weeks, I’ve been kicking around the idea of a daily or semi daily video where I shoot the shit for five minutes or so. Simple. Easy. Direct. The topics discussed will be the usual variety: Cardinals baseball, movies, hockey, life, adulting blues confessional, whatever. Now wouldn’t be the time to suddenly become a golf reporter.
My goal with this is to make it a regular thing. Promising dailies isn’t something in the cards right now, but let’s build the runway before the plane takes off, as Benedict Cumberbatch once said. It started yesterday with the review of “Transformers: Rise of The Beasts.” That featured a pretty even split of written commentary and video-supported opinions, but this one will be mostly spoken words.
Today’s rant centered around the latest Cardinals debacle, the actor who died last night, and the documentary I watched over the weekend. Nothing cryptic. No hot takes. Just a guy talking on camera, in the middle of his workday on lunch, talking to you. Subscriber or not, you’ll get a kick out of this. Scroll back up and enjoy.
One more thing. If you like it, subscribe. It’s 90% free, honest and ad-free commentary. Tell a friend, because that’s always fun.
“Hey, get a load of this guy!”
“Who?”
“Dan Buffa.”
“WHO??”
If you know… then you know. Click play and enjoy.
