I do remember the strategic bashing of Renteria. He did seem to respond to it. I remember trying that same tactic with Tino Martinez with much less success.

Tarasenko came up big last night and is fully deserving of the praise he is receiving today. I think some of us fans have never truly accepted that he’s merely a very good (and occasionally great) player. Kaprizov is a great (and occasionally elite) player. It’s a mistake to try to compare them. This is a repeat of the faulty comparison made in the past when Panerin was with the Hawks. Every Russian star does not need to be compared with every other Russian star.

#91 is a very good player and a key part of a balanced attack. Let’s accept him for what he is; the Blues are lucky to have him.

Strong response, mang. I will go into the ground saying Tarasenko had that mystique before the three shoulder surgeries, but has definitely become a late career Brett Hull with Wings and Stars type player. He is even using his body more these days, refusing to cherry pick a few shifts.

But it's that shot that is truly elite. It can't be stopped when timed perfect. I fucking hated Panerin with a white hot passion. One night while driving for Uber, I had to hear one of his hat tricks against St. Louis. It was like getting repeatedly tapped in the balls with a tiny hammer.

I do remember your games with Tino not panning out, but you famously would make big time predictions, knowing full well you would be wrong. We all jacked it up a notch for fun, and it worked well most of the time. 5122!!

The Russians do create this hockey romance though. We look at them and expect Ivan Drago on skates each time. Tarasenko was something else before he hurt his shoulder, but I'll take this 30-35 goal collecting, playoff beast. They should sign him to an extension instead of letting him go via trade, even if I doubt it happens.

Thanks for the response, this got the hands moving like the old days. Slightly better punctuation.
