Podcast Review: Sweepingly epic ‘Dutton Ranch’ hits the spot

It’s Yellowstone when it was rock solid and fresh.

Sometimes, it’s wise to not mess with a good thing. In the case of Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone universe, Dutton Ranch shines like a brand new penny in his front pocket. Headed up by television’s toughest (and most fan friendly) power couple in Cole Hauser’s Rip Wheeler and Kelly Reilly’s Beth Dutton, the spin-off is exactly what you’d want of a series revolving around two formerly supporting characters. Sweeping vistas, gorgeous ranches, lots of horse riding, and plenty of drama.

With Beth and Rip, it comes natural no matter where they are located at the moment. If you have seen the trailer, you know it’s not Montana anymore. With new surroundings comes new problems, and Annette Bening’s fellow ranch owner looks like Season 1’s favorite to be the catalyst that steps in Beth’s way. When that happens, you pretty much step in Rip’s path as well, which leads to some fireworks.

That’s all you’ll get from me in writing, and the video review doesn’t spoil much outside of what has been offered here. Dutton Ranch is a lot like the first couple seasons of Yellowstone with a fresh coat of paint. Speaking of Sheridan shows, I also discuss the Tom Hardy drama in relation to his status on MobLand.

After making set life awful for Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan-showing up late and hiding in trailer-Hardy found himself reportedly fired last week. The Hollywood Reporter wrote today that an inside source said Hardy’s fate hasn’t been chosen yet. The second season is wrapped, but a third season has not yet been greenlit. Mr. Hardy, now wasn’t the time to be an asshole.
