One could refer to the new action adventure comedy, Novocaine, as the son of famous movie stars show. Jack Quaid, son of Dennis, squaring off against Ray Nicholson, son of Jack, with the fiery Amber Midthunder (from the wonderful Predator film, Prey) in the middle for good measure. Quaid’s pain-free bank manager taking the matters of justice into his own burnt-to-a-crisp hands after Nicholson’s bank robber steals the cash and his new girlfriend makes for a fun cinema experience and real life shit deterrent.
First seen in Steven Soderbergh’s underrated gem of a heist film, Logan Lucky, Quaid turns in a star-making performance that proves he can carry a movie like this and make it entertaining and far away from annoying. While the box office receipts would say otherwise, it is a nice movie theater experience, but does that mean it has to be seen in a theater? For that answer, and more details on Dan Berk and Robert Olson (co-directors) new film, click on the video above and spend a hair over 13 minutes watching me break it all down.
