Buffa's Buffet Podcast: 5 things about the Cardinals

Pour extra bourbon when Miles Mikolas pitches, or every other bullpen arm.

Baseball can be a tough game to attach your heart to, because it takes turns pumping the organ full of fresh oxygen and hope before pummeling it with inconsistency.

The St. Louis Cardinals began the 2025 season like a crossfire in a hurricane, blasting the Minnesota Twins for a sweep and charging into a three-game set with the Los Angeles Angels and Old Man Trout like a proud entity walking tall. Then, the bullpen imploded and the rotation hit a few bumps. The Boston Red Sox revealed all the cracks in the facade, and the Pittsburgh Pirates confirmed them.

The Cardinals are the kind of team that puts five runs up on Paul Skenes, yet finds it hard to put up more than two runs over the next 27 innings. A streak that currently runs through a 3-0 deficit to the Philadelphia Phillies as I type these words.

Above you will find a fresh video from the Buffa’s Buffet Podcast arsenal, where I break down five things about this team that’s making or breaking the season. Instead of mere words, I added my face and face. Click, enjoy, and subscribe. Or, calmly click out and watch something else. Maybe you fall down a rabbit hole of pit bull reels on Facebook, or a guy hunting and befriending elephants in Africa.

All of those options are better, unfortunately, than watching Miles Mikolas pitch.

Whatever you watch, do it with confidence and an open heart. The world is on fire, so stay clear with good content. It’s also a great option for people who left or hate Twitter/X or Facebook, because writers and their followers populate feeds with good things instead of customized hate.
